Тatar Camps

Tatar Alan is a unique Tatar environment that goes far beyond the format of a regular camp. It is organized in the spirit of a large family. Participants of different ages are divided into groups where older ones support the younger ones. Through shared activities, celebrations, traditional games, and a natural language environment, we build our own Tatar village far away from Tatarstan!
For 10 days, participants enjoy lessons, interactive lectures, workshops, creative evenings, and sports activities dedicated to the Tatar language, history, culture, handcrafts, music, and theatre. The daily schedule is arranged with prayer times in mind; for those who wish, a midday prayer and a short religious talk are organized once a day.

THE TEAM

The Tatar Alan team consists of highly skilled educators, true professionals in their fields. Young Tatars studying in our Academy join them as counselors, helping make the camp meaningful, engaging, high-quality, and unforgettable. The program is tailored to each age group; every child has the opportunity to become an “apa” or “abıy” (older sister/brother figure), just like in real Tatar villages, where strong neighborly and family-like connections naturally form.

TATAR-LANGUAGE PLAY

One of the most beautiful traditions of our camp is the Tatar-language theatre performance prepared and presented by the parents’ group. Theatre holds a special place in the life, education, history, and national consciousness of the Tatar people. Through these performances, children not only enjoy a vibrant show, but also become familiar with our customs and cultural heritage through classic Tatar works.

A NOMADIC CAMP

Tatar Alan is a nomadic camp! For us, this means bringing real-life community out of the digital space and into the world. Moving from place to place, city to city, and country to country, the camp unites Tatars wherever they live. Local Tatar communities in the host city are invited to participate in cultural events, performances, and evening programs, helping the Tatar atmosphere grow even richer and more vibrant.

If you’re interested in joining next summer’s camp, you’re welcome to register!
